You are raising funds to support Mohonk Preserve’s mission – to protect the Shawangunk Mountains Region and inspire people to care for, enjoy and explore their natural world.

We know fundraising can be a challenge. Our goal is to make your Rock The Ridge fundraising campaign easy, successful and fun!  We’ve created this guide so you’ll have everything you need to have an effective fundraising campaign. You can also contact us with any questions – we’re always happy to help!

We recommend you read the entire guide and refer to it throughout your fundraising campaign.

This guide will help you:

  • Learn how your fundraising efforts support Mohonk Preserve
  • Prepare your fundraising message and materials and launch your fundraising efforts
  • Identify your list of possible donors
  • Set goals and design a calendar to keep you on track

Collecting Offline Donations

We strongly encourage that donations be made directly to your personal fundraising page but understand that this is not always possible. If you collect donations outside of your official fundraising page, such as a check or cash, please contact Tom Leader at who can record these external donations to your fundraising page.

Please indicate on the check or with a note that the donation is for your Rock The Ridge fundraising, otherwise we cannot guarantee that it will be applied.

Company Matches (New policy for 2023)

We love company matches toward fundraising for the event but please know that company matches will no longer be counted toward your personal fundraising goal. Many companies issue matches quarterly or annually, which makes it difficult to track and process these contributions prior to race day.
