Plein Air Art Walk
Plein Air is back at Mohonk Preserve in 2026! Mohonk Preserve and Roost Arts Hudson Valley collaborated once again for the fifth Plein Air Art Walk and Online Auction, an inspirational project connecting land, art and community. Each piece of art is created at Mohonk Preserve’s Testimonial Gateway Trailhead in New Paltz.
28 artists gathered at Mohonk Preserve on Saturday, October 10 for the 2026 Plein Air Art Walk, creating original works inspired by the Preserve’s landscapes while visitors enjoyed the opportunity to watch the creative process unfold in real time.
Exhibition & Online Auction
Artwork created during the event is on display in the Mohonk Preserve Visitor Center Gallery, 3197 State Rte 44/55, Gardiner, NY 12525, through November 1. The online auction is also open through Sunday, November 1 at 8 p.m. EDT, with proceeds benefiting participating artists, Mohonk Preserve, and Roost Arts Hudson Valley.
Closing Reception
Join us on Sunday, November 1, from 3-5 p.m. at the Mohonk Preserve Visitor Center Gallery to meet participating artists, view the exhibition, and enjoy the final hours of the auction!
Important notes on bidding:
The auction has a scheduled to end but will be extended by two minutes each time a bid is received. This is done so that if you are actively bidding on an item you will always have a chance to place the final winning bid. Winning bidders will be required to pay the additional credit card processing fees so that all money raised will benefit the participating non-profits.
Item pickup:
Winning bidder must arrange to pick up artwork at Mohonk Preserve’s Visitor Center after the auction ends. Art may be shipped for an additional fee. Please contact Tom Leader at tleader@mohonkpreserve.org to arrange for item pickup or shipping.
