Fees

The Visitor Center and its immediate grounds are free to the public. Children age 15 and under are free and must be accompanied by an adult.

To access the land you need to have a current membership or pay a day use fee. The following day fees apply:

• $15 day use fee for hikers Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday
• $20 day use fee for hikers Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Holidays
• $25 day use fee for bikers, climbers, cross-country skiers and horseback riders

Day passes and memberships are available at the Preserve Visitor Center or any staffed trailhead booth. Memberships are also available online for advance purchase.

If you visit during hours when the booths are not staffed, each booth is equipped with a self-pay station that accepts cash, check and virtual credit card payments.

Military Access
Current and former military service members are eligible to receive one complimentary day pass or $10 off an Annual Membership (one discount per household). One complimentary day pass or addition to membership is also available for an accompanying care attendant. Day passes and memberships are available at the Preserve Visitor Center or any staffed trailhead.

Accessibility for Visitors with a Disability
One complimentary day pass or addition to membership is also available to an accompanying care attendant.

Seasonal Ulster County Nature Bus

The Nature Bus runs every Saturday from late April through the end of September and is completely FREE for both transportation and admission to parks and preserves. The Ridge Route from New Paltz will stop and pick up riders at the NYS Thruway Park and Ride, New Paltz Gardens, and New Paltz Trailways; from Ellenville, the Nature Bus departs from Liberty Square. Destinations include the Mohonk Preserve Testimonial Gateway Trailhead, Mohonk Preserve Visitor Center and Minnewaska State Park Preserve.
