Grounds & Vehicle Maintenance Coordinator

Frank developed a love of mountains at age 16 in his native Czechoslovakia, where he graduated from a technical college. He moved to the United States in 1986, graduating from APEX technical college in New York City in 1988.

In 1989, Frank began working for Mohonk Preserve. Since then, he has had the opportunity to climb famous such peaks as El Capitan and the north face of Eiger. Frank has undergone extensive medical, Search And Rescue, fire, and incident command training. He was an EMT for over 20 years and is currently a Wilderness First Responder. He completed the DEC Wildland Search course in 2014 and has taken fire training courses from the National Wildfire Coordinating Group from Basic Firefighter to Advanced Firefighter.

After 35 years as a Ranger, Frank joined the Preserve’s Stewardship team to help care for the land and make use of his technical skills by helping to maintain the Preserve’s vehicles and make the land welcoming to visitors.
