Taryn Withers

Community Programs Coordinator

Taryn joined the Mohonk Preserve as the Community Programs Coordinator in 2025. She grew up in Michigan, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Michigan State University. Her passion for environmental education and conservation was inspired as she volunteered for the nature center in her hometown through middle and high school, feeding exhibit animals and teaching people about them. Taryn continued her journey in conservation after college by working for seven years as a Park Ranger for the National Park Service. As a ranger, she worked to forge meaningful connections between people and their surroundings, from Bryce Canyon to Acadia to the Great Lakes. She is excited to now bring her experience and skills to the Mohonk Preserve.

Outside of work, Taryn enjoys exploring the outdoors and searching for any creatures she may find. You can also find her sketching or crafting, often with a mug of tea.
