Julie Gundersen
Communications Manager
Julie joined the Preserve in January 2022 as a Media Associate and was promoted to Communications Manager in 2026. In these roles, she has strengthened the Preserve’s brand and created engaging content that supports its mission and strategic plan. Julie oversees social media strategy, special event promotion, website management, marketing initiatives, and the organization’s photo archive. She also serves on the Preserve’s Marketing & Communications Committee and acts as staff liaison to the Mohonk Preserve Volunteer Photographers.
Before joining the communications team, Julie worked as a Trailhead Assistant for two seasons while studying at SUNY New Paltz, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing and Painting. After graduation, she spent time in Burlington, VT, and Philadelphia, PA, working as a Communication Specialist in higher education administration. Now back home in the Hudson Valley, Julie enjoys exploring the region’s landscapes through hiking and mountain biking. She also spends time throwing pottery and painting in her home studio.
