Elizabeth Clippard
Community Outreach Coordinator
Elizabeth joined the Mohonk Preserve team in 2025 as the Community Outreach Coordinator. She is responsible for off-site programming, as well as supporting on-site field studies and summer camp. She grew up in Tennessee, where she spent the majority of her time camping in the Great Smoky Mountains, exploring cedar glades, and hiking. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Plant and Soil Science in 2022 from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). She was then awarded from the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program for further education. She travelled north to Syracuse, New York to gain a Masters degree in Forest Resources Management in 2025 from the State University of New York School of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY ESF).
Her previous work experience has focused on both ecological research and parks. Her research has varied over a range of topics, from examining soil qualities over time to growing American ginseng to detecting the invasive emerald ash borer with satellite imagery. She is especially passionate about native plants, unique habitats, and weird bugs. In her personal time, Elizabeth loves to paint with watercolors, as well as experiment with fiber arts, including knitting, sewing, crocheting, and (most recently) weaving!
