Trailhead Manager
Cheryl started coming to Mohonk Preserve in the 1980s as a visitor. Her family loved to explore the Preserve land, Lake Minnewaska and the Mohonk Mountain House property. They biked, hiked and climbed with their friends and growing family. In 1998 they moved to the Hudson Valley. Cheryl continued to come to the Preserve as a visitor and her husband began his Patrol Ranger career with the late Thom Scheuer who was Chief Ranger. In 2014, she retired from her office job and started working as a Seasonal Trailhead Ranger, then as a Seasonal Patrol Ranger. In 2022, she became Ranger/Trailhead Manager working to schedule and support the Trailhead Rangers and assist with Ranger duties as needed. In 2024 she became Trailhead Manager and devotes her time to supporting the Trailhead Rangers and working a shift at the trailheads as needed.
