Ashawna Abbott
Education Outreach Coordinator
Ashawna (She/They) serves as the Education Outreach Coordinator, overseeing the coordination of all off-site education programs, in addition to supporting on-site field studies and summer camp programming. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Ithaca College and has cultivated a lifelong passion for conservation.
With a rich background in environmental education across the Hudson Valley, Ashawna brings a creative and inclusive approach to connecting communities with nature. Her favorite part of her role is sparking curiosity in students, helping them develop a deeper appreciation for the natural world. Ashawna enjoys blending art, mindfulness, and therapeutic practices into her programming, creating unique, meaningful ways for participants to engage with their environment. Outside of work, you’ll often find Ashawna hiking, or birdwatching, activities that inspire her work and ground her commitment to conservation.
