Ranger-Search And Rescue Coordinator
Alan has been working as a part-time, year-round Patrol Ranger since 2020. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge about the cliff and Search And Rescue. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Christopher Newport University. He is also a fully certified Rock Guide by the American Mountain Guides Association, as well as an Ice Instructor. Alan has previous experience working with EMS as an Emergency Medical Technician. He also has his Wilderness First Responder certification. He has completed the National Park Service Technical Rescue Training program and holds his Wildland Firefighter Level 2 certification as of 2025. He is also one of the founding members of the non-profit Rise Outside.
Alan has a wealth of professional outdoor experience from guiding and climbing all over the world. He brings a passion for helping his community and being present when they need him.
