Kathleen C. Weathers

Board Vice-Chair 

Kathie is a Distinguished Senior Scientist at the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies in Millbrook, NY where she has conducted research, education, and outreach since the mid-1980s. Her research has taken her to many mountain, coastal, and lake ecosystems around the world. She received her Master’s degree in Forest Science from Yale University and a Ph.D. in Ecology from Rutgers University.

She lives on a farm in Millerton, NY, and is a current member of the Board of Trustees of the Dutchess Land Conservancy and the Hudson River Foundation. She is an avid hiker and cross-country skier and has explored Mohonk Preserve on skis, rock and by foot.

Kathie joined the Preserve Board in 1997. She is currently Chair of the Conservation Committee. She has been Chair and a member of the Executive Committee since 2012.
