Mohonk Preserve celebrated a major step toward carbon neutrality and long‑term energy independence with the ribbon cutting of its new ground‑mounted solar array at Spring Farm. The event took place on Thursday, April 23, at the Spring Farm Trailhead, marking the Preserve’s first large‑scale solar installation and a milestone in its commitment to environmental stewardship.
“This solar array reflects our active commitment to responsibly steward both the land we protect and the resources we use,” said Kevin Case, Mohonk Preserve President & CEO. “By significantly reducing our reliance on fossil‑fuel–derived electricity and its ever‑rising costs, we are strengthening the Preserve’s ability to operate sustainably and resiliently for generations to come.”
