Come to the Visitor Center for a friendly introduction to the Mohonk Preserve and the Shawangunks. Get hike suggestions... visit a butterfly garden...enjoy exhibits and activities for kids...or take a stroll.

Run or hike on nearly 70 miles of carriage roads and trails.
Ride your bike on carriage roads throughout the Preserve.
Enjoy technical rock climbing on over 1,000 world-class routes.

Want to visit the Mohonk Mountain House?

While neighbors with a shared history, the Mohonk Preserve and the Mohonk Mountain House are two separate places. Please read the rules and regulations for Mohonk Preserve members first before visiting the Mountain House.

Hours and Fees

The Preserve's Visitor Center

Our Visitor Center is open year-round, free of charge, 9-5 daily. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve after 12 noon, Christmas Day, New Years Day

Preserve Lands are open 365 days a year, sunrise to sunset

Admission:
Members: FREE

Non-members:
$10 for hikers and bikers
$15 for climbers
Children 12 and under free with adult

Day passes and memberships can be purchased at the Visitor Center and other trailheads. The face value of your day pass can be applied toward the purchase of a membership. This offer is good for two weeks from the date on your day pass. (One day pass per person.)
