
Lauren Borer
Education Coordinator for Public & Youth Programs
Originally from Rochester, NY, Lauren is Mohonk Preserve’s Education Coordinator for Public & Youth Programs. Her primary responsibilities include coordinating Mohonk Preserve’s Public Programs and Summer Camps as well as teaching school Field Studies and outreach programming. Lauren received her Associate of Applied Science degree from Paul Smith’s College and her Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF). She also has a Secondary Science Teaching Certification from the University of Montana.
Lauren’s work experience as a naturalist and environmental educator includes the Montana Outdoor Science School, The Ridges Wildflower Sanctuary in Door County, WI, and throughout the Twin Cities Metro area for Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, Three Rivers Park District, Tamarack Nature Center, and the Minnesota Zoo. After 14 years of living in Minnesota, she returned to New York in 2020 where she enjoys hiking, biking, bird watching and photography.
