Reciprocal Benefits

Mohonk Preserve is pleased to be partnering with other local nonprofit organizations to offer reciprocal benefits to our members. By working together in this way we are able to expose our dedicated members to more of the wonderful experiences that are available through the dedication and commitment of a network of Hudson Valley nonprofits to building community in our area. Through these partnerships active Mohonk Preserve members have the opportunity to sign up for hikes, special events and workshops with the organizations listed below:

Phillies Bridge Farm Project

  • Mohonk Preserve members can register for one (1) of the following Workshops at Phillies Bridge Farm free of charge:
    1) "Foraging and Feast" Saturday, June 2nd, 2018 from 10 – 12:30 pm
    2) "Introduction to Food Preservation" Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 10 – 12
    3) “Pickling, Jams & Jellies” Tuesday, July 17 from 6-8 pm
    4) “The Big Tomato” Saturday, August 10 from 10 – 12
    5) “Introduction to Pressure Canning” Saturday, Sept. 15 from 10 - 12
    6) “End-of-the-Season Ideas” Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 10 – noon

Walkway Over The Hudson

  • Mohonk Preserve members will have the $5 suggested donation fee to Moonwalk events waived.
    All MP members are be invited to attend a private Walkway Over the Hudson Lecture on June 16, 2018, 4-5pm.

    Tom Illich will be presenting a lecture on the History of Building the Poughkeepsie Railroad Bridge now known as the Walkway Over the Hudson. The lecture will cover the courage needed to overcome the challenges of creating the Bridge in the 1800's, the design process underwent to get to the final design and the criticism and upgrades surrounding the entirety of it. As part of the lecture, he will also be presenting his documentary "Poughkeepsie Railroad Bridge - Past, Present & Future."

Winnakee Land Trust

  • Mohonk Preserve members get Free admission to 2018 Full Moon Hikes on Saturday, March 31; Friday, July 27; and Saturday, August 25 and the sunset Hike is scheduled for Sunday, November 25.
