March Weekend Hikes

“Northeast Trail End to End.” Saturday, March 2nd, 10:30am. Meet at the top of Pine Rd, New Paltz. This is moderate 8 mile with an optional rock scramble hike/spike/snowshoe led by Marty Carp (845-214-8520). Free for Mohonk Preserve members; Non-members pay the $15 day use fee.

“High Peterskill Awosting Loop.” Saturday, March 9th, 10:15am. Meet at the Peterskill parking lot. This is a moderate 5-6 mile hike/spike/snowshoe led by Artie Raphael (845-663-4864). The Minnewaska parking fee applies.

“Rainbow Falls.” Sunday, March 10th, 10:15am. Meet at the Minnewaska State Park Preserve Awosting Lot. This is a moderate 8-10 mile hike/spike/snowshoe led by Marty Carp (845-214-8520).  The Minnewaska parking fee applies.

“Shaupeneak Ramble.” Saturday, March 16th, 9:30am. Meet at the Shaupeneak Ridge upper lot. This is  a moderate 5 mile hike led by Bill Jasyn (845-853-2645). This is a free program.

“Gertrude’s Nose Loop Hike.” Sunday, March 17th. Call the hike leader for meeting time, location, and fee. This is a moderate 6 mile hike/spike/snowshoe led by by Ginny Fauci (Gfauci@gmail.com or 845-399-2170).

“Awosting Loop Hike.” Saturday, March 23rd, 9am. Meet at the parking area across from Mountain Brauhaus to carpool to start of hike. This is a strenuous 8 mile hike/spike/snowshoe led by Martin Bayard (845-229-2216).

“Spring Farm to West Trapps.” Sunday, March 24th, 9:30am. Meet at the Mohonk Preserve West Trapps trailhead. This is a 8 to 9 mile point to point hike (carpooling from West Trapps) led by Roberta Forest (845-750-7059). Free for Mohonk Preserve members, non-members pay the $15 day use fee. 

“Hike with Mohonk Preserve Hike Leaders.” Saturday, March 30th, 9:30am. Meet at the Mohonk Preserve Visitor Center. This is a 6-7 mile hike/spike/snowshoe led by Tonda Highley (text or call 914-475-9536). Free for Mohonk Preserve members,non-members pay the $15 day use fee.

“Mt Beacon.” Sunday, March 31st, 9:30am. Meet at the Mt. Beacon trailhead parking area on Rt 9D in Beacon. This is a strenuous 4-mile hike/spike/snowshoe led by Siu S. Yuen (845-399-7208). This is a free program, with an option to visit DIA:Beacon afterwards.
