Pfalz Point Trail Challenge 10-mile Benefit Run
The 2020 Event Is On!
As of now, we plan to hold Pfalz Point Trail Challenge on October 4, 2020. We know these are uncertain times and we hope that you’ll sign up and participate in this fundraiser. If we are unable to hold the event our plan is to turn it into a virtual run, with participants completing a10-mile run on their own and self-reporting times. If you’re uneasy about running on the day of with others, you may register as a virtual participant and complete a 10-mile run of your choosing.
About the Event
The Pfalz Point Trail Challenge is a 10-mile benefit run to support Mohonk Preserve. Proceeds from 2020 race registration fees and sponsorships will support the restoration and maintenance of the Preserve's network of more than 75 miles of carriage roads and trails that welcome hundreds of thousands of hikers, bikers, runners and climbers annually and are home to other fundraisers such as the Rock and Snow Bridge 2 Bridge Run in April, and Rock The Ridge, a 50-mile endurance challenge in May.

Registration Opens: 7 am (one hour earlier than previous years)
Race Begins: 8 am (one hour earlier than previous years)
Start and finish at the Mohonk Preserve's Spring Farm Trailhead on Upper 27 Knolls Road (off Mohonk Road) in High Falls, NY. See course map.
The course offers a rare chance to race on some of the most extraordinary running trails in the U.S., with ten miles of broad open meadows with spectacular views, steep and rocky footpaths, and gently rolling carriage roads. The course is clearly marked and features water stops at 2¼ miles, 3¾ miles, 6 miles and 7¾ miles. See the course map for details.

All pre-registered runners will receive a great-looking commemorative T-shirt. . In the event of a virtual run, T-shirts will be available for pickup at the Visitor Center.
Prizes will be awarded to the overall winners and winners in ten-year age groups either at the finish or by mail after the event. There will be no formal awards ceremony this year. Virtual run participants will not be eligible for awards.
The post-race chili lunch will not be served this year in an effort to minimize crowds gathering under the Pavilion. We will resume the lunch next year. An assortment of grab-and-go fruits and snacks will be available, as will beverages.
$33 - Entry fee for Preserve members only.
$48 - Entry fee for non-members.
$90 - Special Offer! Includes entry fee, lunch, and one-year Preserve Basic Membership for first-time membership only.
Entrants will be able to register for either the in-person run on October 4, 2020 or a virtual 10-mile run on their own between September 30, 2020 – October 7, 2020.
$50 - Entry fee for day of race registration (cash, check or credit card).
The ability to hold this event may be impacted by the coronavirus and social distancing measures or restrictions on large gatherings. If this event cannot be held on the land, it will be changed to a self-timed, virtual, 10-mile run on your own. Should the virtual option not be acceptable, we will offer refunds of registration fees upon request prior to the event or deferrals to 2021. Sorry, but we can’t offer refunds on or after October 4, 2020. All registration fees go directly to supporting Mohonk Preserve’s protection of more than 8,000 acres of the Shawangunk Ridge.
Parking is limited. Please arrange to carpool to and from the race if possible.
