Older Wiser Learners (OWLs) – Spotted Lanternfly Workshop

You are never too old to learn new things! Join Mohonk Preserve Education Staff for a series of workshops for adults ages 18+. Participants will dive deeper into the natural history of the Gunks in these seasonal workshops. This summer’s theme is the Spotted Lantern Fly and Tree of Heaven. Participants will have the chance to explore the natural history of the Shawangunk Ridge and look at these invasive species and pests to better understand how they impact our forests along the ridge. Bring a field journal and a hand lens if you have one. The workshop will take place indoors and outdoors, so prepare to spend time taking a brief hike outdoors observing SLF and Tree of Heaven specimens. Space is limited and registration is required. Cost is $25 for members and $35 for non-members.
