Field School - Lenape Lifeways
This spring Mohonk Preserve is offering hands on outdoor programming for local learning groups. Gather a group of up to 10 at home learners between the ages of 6 and 12, including at least one adult chaperone, for an immersive two-hour experience on the land with a Mohonk Preserve Educator. One adult must register for the group and space is limited to one learning group per program.
Come prepared to learn in the outdoors this spring!
Join Environmental Educator Penny Adler-Colvin as your students imagine their way back through time to learn about the Lenape people and their ancestral homelands stewarded today by the Mohonk Preserve. A 1-mile hike on easy to moderate terrain through fields and forest leads you to a recreated Lenape encampment. Enter the longhouse and participate in skills-based, hands-on activities that Lenape youths practiced during the period of European contact. This program is appropriate for students ages 6 to 12accompanied by at least one adult. Registration by one adult is required for the group and group size is limited to 10 individuals including adults. Masks are required; younger siblings and dogs are not permitted on this program. Fee: $45
