Gardeners – Volunteer Orientation

Thursday, April 1, 2021
10:00 am11:30 am

This volunteer position is responsible for supporting the Land Stewardship Department by planting and maintaining the gardens around the Visitor Center. It is helpful for volunteers to become acquainted with Visitor Center landscape design, and to develop a knowledge of basic plant identification, techniques for transplanting, planting, seed collection and propagation, weeding and weed suppression.

Our volunteer orientations are designed to give you all the information you need about a particular volunteer activity. It is a great opportunity to meet with the coordinator, learn about the activity, and meet other volunteers. Please feel free to attend any or all orientations.

In 2021, all orientations take place online on Zoom. Please register in advance to receive the Zoom orientation log in link and additional instructions. If you want to get involved but cannot attend a scheduled orientation, contact Andy Reynolds, Volunteer Programs Manager, at or 845-255-0919, ext. 1269.
