Backcountry Patrol – Volunteer Orientation
Patrol on foot the remote areas of the Preserve to provide a visible Mohonk Preserve presence -- give information and directions to visitors, be alert to improper land use, and observe and report anything like fallen trees or road depressions. You’ll have a radio to use to keep in touch with Rangers, advising them of emergencies or other activities.
Our volunteer orientations are designed to give you all the information you need about a particular volunteer activity. It is a great opportunity to meet with the coordinator, learn about the activity, and meet other volunteers. Please feel free to attend any or all orientations.
In 2021, all orientations take place online on Zoom. Please register in advance to receive the Zoom orientation log in link and additional instructions. If you want to get involved but cannot attend a scheduled orientation, contact Andy Reynolds, Volunteer Programs Manager, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 845-255-0919, ext. 1269.
