Mohonk Preserve summer programs provide opportunities for children ages 4-13 to spend their summer outside enjoying the natural wonders the Shawangunk Ridge has to offer. Under the careful supervision of our dedicated and professional educators, campers will laugh, play, and learn together; explore interests and abilities; and expand their understanding of themselves, each other and the world to which they belong.
Our Young Explorers (ages 4-6) will experience a new adventure every day as they spend their mornings on the trails surrounding the Mohonk Preserve Visitor Center and enjoy weekly field outings to other locations on the Preserve. They will participate in a range of activities such as building animal shelters in the Children’s Forest, playing nature games, music and storytelling, and creating their own art from nature.
Campers in Camp Peregrine (ages 7-10) and Mountainside Adventures (ages 10-13) will have a blast whether exploring the crevices of Rock Rift, scrambling up the boulders of Bonticou Crag, investigating the life cycle of a tadpole at Duck Pond, or fashioning frogs and turtles out of clay.
Please note: The drop-off and pick-up points vary each day for Camp Peregrineand Mountainside Adventures. Depending upon theme and planned activities, we rove on Mohonk Preserve or Mohonk Mountain House land. Parent packets, complete with map and daily locations, are provided in advance. 9am drop-off and 3pm pick-up is expected within a 15-minute window.
Partial refunds, tuition cost minus a $75 processing fee, will be available if cancellations occur prior to March 3, 2016. A 50% refund of tuition costs will be available prior to April 15, 2016. Tuition is non-refundable after April 15, 2016.
Members are eligible for a discount on Camp Peregrine and Mountainside Adventures sessions. With our new online registration system, the discount will be in the form of a coupon code. Members will receive an email with the discount code the week before registration opens. That code may be applied at checkout.

Based at the Mohonk Preserve Visitor Center, campers will spend their mornings exploring and interacting with nature. Each session will have a new and exciting theme ranging from adventures with water to local animals. Campers will have the opportunity to spend one morning during the week at another trailhead, exploring the many wonders of the Preserve.
As Peregrine Falcons are known to travel widely, so will campers - wandering the forests, fields, and streams of Mohonk Preserve. Through hiking expeditions, stream play, sketching, pond studies, storytelling, land art, and forest explorations, campers are encouraged to find their own unique expression and voice using nature as a medium. Creature searches, nature games, songs, and rambles in the outdoors will introduce your child to the wonders of the Shawangunk Ridge. Special guests will visit and share their scientific and artistic talents. Each day will be an adventure of exploration and discovery in science and the arts.
With the Mohonk Preserve and Mohonk Mountain House land as the arenas for exploration, Mountainside Adventures allows campers to have fun while hiking to new and exciting destinations each day. Campers will focus on developing their problem-solving skills through exciting team challenges and spend their days creating their own adventures along the trail. Days will be active with quiet time at the end of each day for reflection, be it sitting on a log in the forest or within the recess of a rock crevice.
