Get ready! Shawangunk Ridge annual winter lectures...
********************************************************** The lecture scheduled for January 28th, "Bats on the Wane", has been rescheduled for February 25th due to weather. The lecture will start at 7PM Feb 25th in Lecture Center 102. ********************************************************** Nature has tremendously diverse expressions, from tiny insects to large mammals and from colorful flowers to towering trees. It is also powerful, as evidenced by wildfires and floods or the nourishment provided by soil and sunshine. While the concept of people “managing” land and natural systems may seem strange, sound management is in fact an intrinsic—and increasingly required—element of conservation.
Join the Shawangunk Ridge Biodiversity Partnership (SRBP) to learn about key conservation efforts underway in our region through several lectures on January 14-February 18. Get the details on SRBP’s 2010 winter series, "Managing for Biodiversity."
