Saturday, 8:30am-12:30pm. Join Poughkeepsie Journal and Mohonk Preserve staff for a hike to the summit of Bonticou Crag, a popular, stark-white rock formation in the northern Preserve, rising nearly 1,200 feet above sea level. On a clear day you will enjoy stunning views of the valley below, and the Catskill Mountains and Hudson Highlands in the distance. The hike will be led by Preserve Volunteer Educator Ray Haberski and Preserve Visitor Services Coordinator Jon Ross. Ages 10 and up are welcome. Children must always be accompanied by an adult. This program includes a moderate to strenuous, 3-mile hike, with an optional rock scramble. Space is limited; reservations are required. This is a free program.
