Ulster County is joining its neighbor to the east in creating a dedicated fund to support open space.
In his State of the County speech on Jan. 28, Ulster County Executive Michael Hein highlighted his capital improvement plan, which includes $3 million in county funds to protect open space.
The program would award matching grants to municipalities and nonprofit organizations toward outright purchases or easements from willing sellers, or toward the creation of recreational facilities. View full article online.
